The Real Differences Between the Camp Snap 2 and the Camp Snap Pro
They look like siblings and they work the same way. No screen, no app, no scrolling back through 40 versions of the same photo. You point, you click, and you don't see anything until you plug it in. That's the whole appeal. Here's where they actually split.
Photo quality
The Camp Snap 2 shoots 8MP. The Pro jumps to 16MP on a bigger 1/3.06" sensor, with a faster processor that cuts down the lag between pressing the button and getting the shot. Pro photos come out sharper and cleaner.
That said, neither of these is trying to replace your phone. Camp Snap photos are supposed to look like film: a little soft, a little grainy, a little imperfect. The Camp Snap 2 leans more disposable-camera. The Pro leans more "my aunt's point-and-shoot from 1998."
Flash
This is the biggest reason to spend more. The Pro has a xenon flash, which is the kind of flash real film point-and-shoots use. It's brighter and looks more natural than an LED, and Camp Snap says it's better in low light. If a lot of your photos happen at dinner, at a party, or after the sun goes down, get the Pro.
Filters
The Camp Snap 2 has six filters built in: Standard, Vintage 1, 2 and 3, Analog, and Black & White. You switch between them with a button on the camera. The Pro swaps that button for a four-position dial on top, which is a lot more satisfying to use. Its settings include black and white and a no-filter mode, and the modes are customizable. The Camp Snap 2 also lets you build your own filters on Camp Snap's filter site.
Size and feel
The Camp Snap 2 is 15% slimmer than the original Camp Snap and it's genuinely pocketable. It fits in a jacket pocket, a backpack, or a small bag without thinking about it. It comes in 11 colors, has strap lugs for a lanyard, and has a standard tripod mount.
The Pro is bigger and heavier, with a classic rangefinder shape. It looks great sitting on a shelf and it feels more like a real camera in your hand. It's not a pocket camera. One more thing to know: the Pro isn't compatible with Camp Snap's waterproof case, so if you want one for the beach or the pool, that's a point for the Camp Snap 2.

Kid features
This is where the Camp Snap 2 wins outright. It has something Camp Snap calls CampLock. The filter button comes locked out of the box, so your kid can't accidentally switch everything to black and white on day one. You unlock it by holding the button for 10 seconds. The memory card door is screwed shut too, so little hands can't pop the card out or mess with the date and time. Once you don't need the screw, there's a pull-tab door instead.
The Pro doesn't have any of that. It's built for adults.
Battery and storage
Both get about 500 shots per charge and charge over USB-C. The Camp Snap 2 comes with a microSD card already in it that holds around 2,000 photos. The Pro comes with 4GB of built-in memory. Neither needs Wi-Fi or an app. You plug it into your phone or computer and download your photos like it's 2004.
